Like everything else in the IP world the business models and opportunities surrounding the connected-car phenomenon are changing at warp speed, signaling that network service providers who may have kicked the Internet-on-wheels tires and passed two or three years ago should think again. The rolling – living room is real!
“Absolutely, there’s an opportunity for the local MSOs and MVPDs in general, big time,” says analyst Allan McLennan, who heads up the PADEM Group. “As we advance with network demands, the ability to create new customers and models for connection with over-the-top services of media and entertainment is a natural extension for MVPDs.”
